As a UI/UX Design Intern in the Kampus Merdeka program, I collaborated with fellow designers to develop gamification features for the Campaign #ForChange app. Together, we focused on transforming social actions into an interactive journey, encouraging users to build positive habits through game mechanics such as challenges, XP points, and reward systems.

About The Company

Campaign #ForChange is a social platform that encourages users to complete "challenges" to unlock donations from sponsors for various social causes. However, the platform faced a significant challenge in user retention and engagement, as many users found the challenge-taking process confusing or uninspiring, leading to a high drop-off rate before completion.

- The Socially Conscious Individuals: Young individuals who want to contribute to social causes but have limited time and prefer quick, meaningful digital interactions. - New Users: People who are unfamiliar with the concept of "action-based donating" and need a clear, guided onboarding experience.

- Enhance User Engagement: Redesign the challenge flow to make it more interactive, rewarding, and easier to understand for everyday users. - Improve Completion Rates: Streamline the steps required to complete a challenge, reducing friction and cognitive load. - Strengthen Social Impact: Clearly communicate the impact of each action to motivate users to complete their tasks and unlock donations.

Constraint

The design had to be implemented within the existing app's core architecture and brand guidelines while introducing a completely new "gamified" feel. Additionally, the solution needed to balance the needs of three different stakeholders: the users (who want ease of use), the sponsors (who want visibility), and the organizers (who need valid action proof).
